
Yesterday, Merx Kaas was proud to be present as an exhibitor at the very first edition of the Belgian Cheese Awards. It was a great day full of flavours, encounters and – of course – cheese!
The event, organised in the beautiful setting of the 3 Fonteinen brewery, brought together the best cheesemakers in Belgium to celebrate their craft. The atmosphere was fantastic, and it was an honour to be part of such a special occasion.
We would like to congratulate the winners of the Gold Medal in the different categories:
In the category of cheeses made from pasteurised milk, the Gold Medal went to the "Lotenhulle rouge" from our colleagues at Little Cheese Farm. Congratulations to the entire team for this well-deserved award!
In the category of cheeses made from raw milk, the victory went to "Aurélie" from Karditsel. They also deserve huge congratulations for their excellent cheese!
We would also like to congratulate Ann Keymeulen and her team for the excellent organisation of the event. The choice of location, the atmosphere and the hospitality made it a day to remember.
It was a day that once again underlined the importance of artisanal cheese in Belgium, and we are already looking forward to the next edition!
